Chine Collé Workshop
Saturday, September 18 from 10am-4pm
Melanie Lower, instructor
Add texture, color and nuance to your intaglio prints using the little known technique of chine collé. With chine collé part or all of an image is printed on a delicate paper, which pulls finer detail off the plate, and is bonded to a heavier paper. We will see examples, discuss ways to incorporate the technique into your own works, learn to trace and cut to size Japanese paper, print and bond papers, and experiment with various papers and configurations. Workshop for those with some etching experience wishing to enrich and further develop their etchings. Please bring already etched plates.
Tuition: $120 (plus $25 materials fee, payable to the instructor)

  1. I am looking forward to this one! My roses need some color and chine collé is just what I want to use.
